"Let the world know of your arrival"
Pay Per Click advertising(PPC) is a must when you are in the process of building a web presence. When your site first launches it will not immediately be on Google's front page, as your SEO will not have had enough time to set in. So for the time being you will have to "buy traffic." The thought of this may scare you off at first but it is not as expensive as you may be thinking now. What I mean by buying traffic is advertising. There are multiple ways to go about doing this but the one I am going to cover right now is PPC advertising. PPC is more than worth the money if you do it correctly. It gives you targeted traffic, which means the people who click on your ad are truly interested in what you have to offer. You can generally pre-pay a set amount in your PPC networks site for you to spend on advertising, or you can just set a daily limit and enter your credit card number. Only you will know what your budget will allow though.

One of the most popular PPC networks is Google Adwords. Adwords is my preference simply because they will show your ads everywhere. This is how they fund their Adsense program I will teach you about in one of my other programs. Other networks you may want to try are Bidvertiser or Adbrite. Both have a decent setup, but neither show your ads in a search engine like Adwords do. Of course there is no rule that says you can only use one network. In fact Bidvertiser has a special now that if you join their network they give you a free $20 worth of advertising credits.
When you are creating your ad(s) you will need to remember your target audience. When you are writing your ad you are giving them a "peep hole" into your site. In other words you need to make your website seem like a dream come true to your targeted audience. Whatever you do though do not mislead your audience with your ad(s) as you will just be wasting money because they will just leave your site as soon as they enter it and cost you money. The use of PPC adverising should not be the sole wource of your traffic over time, and eventually you hope to be able to shrink your advertising budget once you get more traffic from search engines.
